Welcome to Feijoada & Fika
Feijoada & Fika is our way of saying: ”Love doesn’t need to be the same to stay strong”.
A love story brewed between beans and coffee
We live in Sweden, where we’ve raised two amazing kids, both born here.
We’re a Latin – Nordic couple who met in London and have been building a life together for over 20 years.
He’s Swedish. I’m Brazilian. And somehow, through all the differences in culture, language, faith, beliefs, values, and economic realities, we’ve stayed together.
Not because it’s always been easy, but because we’ve both chosen to keep going.
This blog isn’t about telling a perfect story. It’s about telling a real one.
- We want to talk to couples who are in love but scared to take the next step…
- Who are building a life together across cultures and borders…
- Who are raising kids in a world that doesn’t always understand mixed families…
- And who are figuring out how to parent teenagers , while still figuring out each other.
You might be wondering:
- Is love enough
- What happens when our values clash?
- Can we survive the cultural shocks?
- Will our kids belong anywhere?
We’ve lived through all of it. And we’re still here.
Still loving. Still learning. Still laughing (most days).
Thanks for being here.😃 Let’s grow something real, together.
Welcome to our story! Welcome to “Feijoada & Fika” 🇧🇷❤️🇸🇪

Why Feijoada & Fika?
Wondering why we chose the name Feijoada & Fika for our blog? In this post, we share the meaning behind the name and how it reflects our roots, values, and the moments that matter from Brazilian feasts to Swedish coffee breaks.
Our Language, Our Story
As a Brazilian married to a Swede, I’ve learned first-hand how the way we speak to our children shapes their sense of identity and belonging. From English at home to Portuguese and Swedish with our daughters, our story has taught me that your native language isn’t just words, it’s a gift, a bridge, and a piece of who you are.
Kroppkakor
History, Home, and Heart
What if a single dish could tell the story of a whole island?
On Öland, in the winds of southern Sweden, the humble kroppkaka does just that, carrying with it generations of tradition, family, and love.
This is our story of how one simple meal became the heart of our Christmas Eve.
A Journey Home - My Personal Faith Testimony
What began as a spontaneous decision to follow my wife to a church meeting turned into the beginning of a journey I never saw coming. This is a story about faith, change, and the quiet but powerful moments that reshape our lives.
About us
We met in London in 2003—two 25-year-olds from opposite sides of the world: Andreas from a small town in Sweden, and me from the heart of Brazil. 20+ years later, here we are—married, parents, and still navigating life together. In this post, we’re sharing a glimpse of how it all began and how we ended up in Sweden, with plenty of stories still to tell.
