About us

Challenges & new beginnings

How it all began.

Andreas and I were both born in February 1978, but we grew up on opposite sides of the world. He’s from a tiny town in southern Sweden called Borgholm, and I’m from Juscimeira, a small town in Brazil, though I spent most of my childhood in the city of Cuiabá.

Meeting in London.

We met in London in 2003 when we were both 25. At the time, Andreas was working as a stockroom manager and I was a cleaner in the same H&M store. I had just arrived in England a couple of months earlier and barely spoke any English. Somehow, we made it work—with a lot of help from a kind Mexican colleague who translated for us.

Building a life together.

Not long after, we decided to move in together. Our first home was a shared flat with a mix of people from all over the world, Japanese, Australian, Croatian, and Brazilian. It was crowded, but it was also fun and full of memories.

Challenges & new beginnings.

Life in those first years wasn’t exactly easy. I worked long hours, and carried the weight of debts and worries from back home. On top of that, my student visa made traveling stressful, so eventually we decided to get married to make life a little less complicated.

Moving to Sweden.

Like every couple, we’ve had our ups and downs, moments where things felt really tough. But we stuck it out, and when I became pregnant in 2008, we made the big decision to start fresh in Sweden.

Our life today.

That’s where we’ve built our life ever since, together with our two wonderful daughters, who are teenagers now.

What comes next.

This is just the short version of our story. We’ve been together for over twenty years, and there are so many little pieces of our journey we’ll be sharing here along the way.

Thanks for stopping by and getting to know us a little better. If our story makes you curious, stay tuned, we’ll be sharing more memories, challenges, and lessons learned along the way. We’d love for you to follow along and be part of this journey with us.
