Why “Feijoada (Brazil) & Fika (Swedish)”?
When we first thought about starting this blog, we knew we wanted a name that reflected who we are and what we love. And after a lot of brainstorming, the answer was clear: Feijoada & Fika.
These two words might seem very different at first one is a hearty Brazilian stew, the other a Swedish coffee tradition but to us, they represent something important:
connection, culture, and slowing down to enjoy life.
Feijoada
Feijoada is more than just beans and meat. It’s about gathering friends and family around the table, sharing stories, laughter, and music. It’s about celebrating life, even in the middle of an ordinary Saturday.
Fika
Fika, on the other hand, is a quiet pause in your day. A cup of coffee, a cinnamon bun, and a moment to breathe, reflect, or chat with someone you care about. It reminds us that life isn’t only about doing it’s also about being.
Where Traditions Meet Stories
So together, Feijoada & Fika captures the heart of our story: the joy of sharing, the beauty of traditions, and the little rituals that make life special whether in Brazil or Sweden.
Through this blog, we want to share our experiences, stories, and lessons from these two worlds. Sometimes it will be about food, sometimes culture, and sometimes just the small, meaningful moments that connect us across continents.
Welcome to our table. Welcome to our fika.
Welcome to Feijoada & Fika.
